REYANSH

It's my engagement today.

The house is in a full hustle preparing for everything.
The schedule is packed. Like really packed. Today we have engagement and Haldi.

And then tomorrow we have Mehdi and sangeet. Day after tomorrow. 8th may it's our weeding.

Yes I am forever going to say this again and again. Every hour, minute and second of the day. "Reyansh bhai!!!" I hear Raihaana scream, quickly opening the door to my room I look at her standing her breathing heavily. "What happened??" I ask looking at her. "Are you ready? If not get ready quickly and move to the venue with the elders, Aarav me and Mihir will come with chote maa and papa"

"Okay okay first calm down and take a breath, here" I take her inside the room making her sit on the bed, I grab the jug pouring her a glass of water which she chugs down in one go.

"Calm down baccha, now you go and get ready how you have always dreamed of getting ready for my weeding, I'll handle the rest hmm" I say softly patting her head, she passed me a big smile, hugging me "you are the best bhai!!" She says leaving me and making her way out.

I also make my way towards the washroom quickly getting ready, I meet with everyone downstairs, settling down in our car, we make the our way towards the venue.

"Ladies and gentlemen!! I Mihir Singhania welcome you to the engagement party of Naina Malhotra and Reyansh Singhania" the hall fills with huge applause and cheers.

Me and Naina look at each other, she is cladded in a
beautiful lengha. Ah man it's so hard to take my eyes off her. Control Reyansh control.

We are colour coordinating so even I am dressed in white. I know I am going to have a hard time after this. Cause Naina loves white. Not like that, she loves the colour on me and doesn't like it when someone else sees me in it.

Maa brings the rings in-front of us. I carefully pick up one of the box and take it near Naina finger. "Pakka? Dekhlo permanent booking hogaye gi" I ask her with a smile dancing on my lips.

She looks at me "pakka" I slide the ring in her finger, and the hall fills with hooting. She picks up the other box, keeping the ring near my finger. "Ready to be Mr.Reyansh Naina Singhania?" She says with a huge smile dancing on her lips. The urge to kiss her till she is breathless.

Man she is so hot. Okay back to reality. "Yes Mrs.Naina Reyansh Singhania" she slides the ring in my finger, there were again huge hooting and cheering.

Firecrackers start blowing in the sky, I stand up and Naina does the same. Soon there were lights in the sky, forming a boy, soon the lights form a picture of students standing with certificate in their hands, while one had a trophy in his hand.

Naina looks at me with tears in her eyes, she hits my chest with her fist causing her bangles to make a noise. "You remember?" She asked me, a tear rolling down her cheek. "Yes Meri jaan, how can I forget the first time I met you"

She tightly wraps her hand around me hugging the day light out of me, I also slowly wrap my hands around her waist, creasing her hair.

Everyone look at us with a 'awe' tears shining in the eyes of our parents. "Did you lie that day?" she mumbles in my chest. "No I did not I actually didn't know you were the same person, until I saw the photos from the other day and digged in my memory"

She breaks the hug looking at me "I hate you" she says looking at me with those doe eyes her blue orbs meeting my brown ones, I just want the time  to stop here. "I love you too Meri jaan"

NAINA

There is turmoil inside me right now. Which doesn't seem to calm down anytime soon. The turmoil of love and happiness.

If a few years ago someone would have told me that the guy I meet by a accident, the one I had a crush on in high school. The one who didn't even know my name.

Would be marrying me and displaying the photo of our first meet in the sky on our engagement, then i would have  laughed straight for hours.

But today. Proved me wrong, very wrong.

Kismat Iska kheel na aj tak koi samaj paya hai na samaj paye ga, ye aise cheez hai Jo ap se sab cheen bhi sakti hai aur ap ki haar dua khubol bhi kar sakti hai.

I snap out of my thoughts by a knock on the door. And there enters and the youngest, wait!? Both of the entire families are here.

" kitni pyaari lag rahi hai Meri bacchi" Reyansh mother says coming forwards, she rubs her finger on her waterline, applying a dot behind my ear. "Kisi ki nazaar na lage"

"Mera baccha bhi bohot Accha lag raha hai" mumma says doing the same to Reyansh as well. "Ready raho bhai Bhabi haldi ke liye, chodenge nahi ap Dono ko" Aarav says. "Pata hai hame" both me and Reyansh say in a unison.

"Beta ham konsa bakhash ne wale hai" papa says. "Sahi bolo Akshay" Reyansh father said. "Ap ni shaadi ka badla Meri bacchi pe mat nikalna" Mumma says looking at papa.

["don't take the revenge of our weeding in my daughter's"]

"Vo to mujhe yaad hi maat dilaoyo pura 1 ganta laga tha haldi niklane" papa says. "Daroo Naina Aur Reyansh kyu ki tum log to nahi bacch ne vale" bua says.

[" don't even remind me of that it took me a hour to wash of all the haldi"]

[" be scared Naina and Reyansh we aren't going to leave you today"]

"Ap log ne teams banaye hai na?" Reyansh says looking at them, cause both of our fathers along with Mihir fathers are standing all together, while the mothers of us three are standing together, both of our buas together, Aarav and Mihir are on one side, Raihaana, Akriti and Kainaat are on one side.

["you guys have made teams right?"]

"Kyu?" Mihir father, Sahil uncle says. "Ap logo ko dekh ne se dikhraha hai" Reyansh answers. "Kyu dargaye?" Advika aunty, Mihir mother says

Me and Reyansh look at each other before saying "Haan ham to dargaye" we say in a unison keeping her hands on her heart.

["yes we are very scared"]

"Now let's go it's time for haldi" adhira bua, Raihaana's mother says. All of them move out, I take one last glance at myself in the mirror before making my way out.

We take our seat in the middle of the big bowls, slowly all the guests come and start applying us haldi, kainaat and Aarav come forward taking a very generous amount in her hands, Kainaat comes to me spreading the haldi all over my cheek, "congratulations di" she says with a smile which I reciprocate.

Next Aarav comes to me, "congratulations Bhabi" he says spreading haldi on my cheeks slowly, making sure I don't get uncomfortable, or he touches me anywhere. But his words ring in my head making my stomach do that thing.

"Miss me di" Aakriti says applying haldi, next comes Adhira bua "I wish you always stay happy" she says passing me a soft smile. She is a very quiet one, I haven't heard her talking a lot. But she is very kind from her heart. The profit she earns from her boutique 10% of it is always given in charity.

Next comes mumma papa. "Be generous on your husband, cause you can't fire him like you fire the employees" she says making a small chuckle leave my mouth. "You can trust me mumma" I tell her, she gently creases my cheek, and moving towards Reyansh. Papa comes to me. "If anything happens don't hesitate to tell me" he says applying me haldi.

"Don't worry papa noting will happen I trust him and his family" he nods at me and passes me a warm smile before leaving.

Next Chachi and Chachu aka Mihir's parents come forward. "Can't believe the 16 yrs old Naina who once burned the kitchen trying to cook Kheer with me is going to be the daughter-in-law of our house"
I smile at her words. Vo bhi kya din the.

Chachu come to me "the most talented business woman is now going to be the eldest daughter-in-law of our house, welcome to the family beta" he says as I smile at his words wholeheartedly.

Then comes this devil Mihir, he takes a very very generous amount in his hand, going towards.......... Me oblivious I am the one. "Ye Thoda zada hi generous amount nahi leli ap ne?" I ask him. "Kaho to I can be even more generous, I have a big heart you know"

[" isn't this a little too much haldi?"]

Lastly bua comes forwards, "khana jala mar Dena, vaha mai nahi rahungi phir se thum he pura help karne" unknowingly tears pool up in my eyes, I blink them away, "I won't bua" she smiles at me before leaving.
