REYANSH

I intertwine our hands, my thumb gently rubbing the back of hers as she takes the bottle from the side and chugs half of it. "It's okay, I'm here with you, for you," I assure her, and she looks at me with a soft smile.

"I know that," she replies. My gaze shifts to her, and a small smile forms on my lips. We arrive back home and step out of the car. It's pretty late, and everyone must be asleep by now. We go upstairs to our room, changing into our nightwear.

We lay down on the bed, cradled in each other's arms. Soon, sleep consumes her, but I'm wide awake, admiring her. Her face glows softly under the moonlight, a peaceful expression gracing her features. No matter how many times I look at her, I still fall in love all over again. When she smiles, I forget how to breathe.

I love her unconditionally, and that will never change—not in this life or any other. If she were the sun and I were ice, I would still stand there looking at her, even though every second would cost me my life.

After all, I would evaporate, forming into a cloud, and then I would get even closer to her. Loving her is like breathing for me—easy and necessary.

I wake up with a feeling a continuous movements, slowly opening my eyes I see Naina tossing and turning in bed, "kya hua Meri Jaan?" My voice was low and hoarse she looks at me with her small eyes "nothing just these stupid cramps" She cries out I shift her in my arms creasing her stomach wrapping the comforter around us.

"You need anything?" I ask her in a low voice getting no response I open my eyes to look at her who already fell asleep I smile before closing my eyes as sleep consumes me once again.

The soft rays shining through the window awaken me gently, and I find Naina still in deep sleep. I slowly remove my arm from her hold, not wanting to disturb her.

I get ready and move downstairs, where I see Mihir already seated at the dining table having breakfast.

I take a seat in front of him. "Morning, bhai," he says, stuffing food into his mouth.

"Morning, and slow down—you'll choke on your food," I warn him.

"Arey bhai, I'm already running late. Apki biwi jaan Meri jaan lelengi," he says with a horrified expression.

"Chill, Mihir. She won't be coming to the office today," I assure him.

"Why? She didn't tell me," Mihir says in a confused voice.

"She got her periods last night. It's better if she stays home," I tell him. Mihir nods.

"Bhai, it's better if you don't send her to the office. Once during her periods, she fired an employee just because he was daydreaming. Another time, she fired someone for being one minute late for a presentation," he says with a sigh.

"And now I don't want any more names on that list. It's hard finding people who meet her standards," Mihir says. I pat his shoulder.

"I know it must be hard. It's okay, hang in there, brother," I tell him, followed by a laugh.

"Looks like you'll have to add a name to that list, Mihir Singhania," we hear a voice from behind. Mihir's face morphs in horror, and my eyes widen.

It was Naina, standing with her arms folded across her chest, a deadly and stern expression on her face as she glares at us.

"Bhabi—" Mihir begins to say, but Naina cuts him off.

"In my cabin at sharp 12. Even if you're a minute late, you'll find your resignation letter," she says sternly. Mihir flinches in his seat.

She turns to me, and I gulp hard. "And Reyansh Singhania, in my bedroom now," she says, throwing daggers at me. I nod meekly as she heads upstairs.

Me and Mihir share a look, knowing it's the end for us today. Haye Bhagwan, bacha lena.

Wait! Let me call Kabir; I'm sure he knows what to do! I take out my phone and dial his number. He picks up after two rings.

"Man, I fucked up bad," I tell him.

"Tell me something new," he replies in a bored voice.

"It's serious. Naina is angry!" I explain everything that happened. He lets out a heavy sigh.

"Ab kya karu? Room mein baithi hongi vo."

"Dono milkar Pogo dekhna," he answers.

"Agar usko Chhota Bheem na pasand ho to?" I ask him.

"Toh tum dono ek naya cartoon bana lena," he says, ending the call. Useless advice.

I head towards our room and knock on the door. Hearing a "come in," I step inside. There she is, sitting on the couch wearing my hoodie. I swear I could kiss her right now.

Focus, Reyansh.

She raises an eyebrow, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Meri jaan, I am sorry. Please maaf kardo mujhe," I say as I approach her.

"Itni easily to nahi milegi maafi. Thode pappad belne padhenge."

"Mai toh kuch bhi karne ke liye ready hoon, meri biwi jaan ke liye," I tell her sincerely.

"Kiss me."

"Kiss me like it's your first and last time."
