NAINA
It’s been a week since I arrived in the U.S., and the days have been nothing short of chaotic. Reyansh and I have managed only three proper conversations, snatched between time zone differences and our hectic schedules. But he never fails to drop me a message throughout the day, reminding me to eat, asking how I’m holding up. It’s sweet, the way he cares, but something feels off. There’s a distance in his voice, a weariness that’s impossible to ignore. Even when I ask Maa about him, she always says, “He hasn’t returned from the office yet.” It’s been gnawing at me, this uneasy feeling that something’s wrong. I’ve been trying my best to wrap up my work here quickly so I can get back home.
